More Spongebob

I got back from the beach today and decided to take another whack at Spongebob. These are all studies from The Spongebob Squarepants Movie. I was looking for a variety of poses to feel out some of the range animators have already given to his expressions. Check out my previous post for a more detailed explanation of my motivation for doing these studies.

Adam's right...they're perfect. I love that your last couple posts have been from your sketchbook...there's something so genuine about seeing a sketchbook drawing. Makes me realize I haven't been posting enough. Nice work, Bob...I'm glad you've been able to strengthen your appreciation of your favorite character. It's fate!

Awesome Spongebobs!! You really have him nailed down, I've tried drawing him a few times and he always comes out a little off. I do agree that he is really well designed, animators can pretty much do whatever they want to with him and get away with it. Cool stuff as always!

Thanks Renee and David! I've been drawing Spongebob without the aid of the DVD player now. Definitely a little more tricky to nail proportions. But I'm still having a lot of fun with it.
